Regional Site Control Manager

National Wind, the leading developer for landowner based, community wind projects is seeking candidates for the Minnesota and Iowa Region. The Real Estate Manager will be responsible for supervising the real estate acquisition staff in Minnesota and Iowa. Responsibilities including:

  • Establish, train and lead teams of land agents in the field that will create a sustained presence for our projects within our targeted areas
  • Manage databases of parcel, deed, land and other factual and accurate information relating to targeted properties
  • Track contact, communications and progress with all targeted landowners
  • Planning and communication with project development personnel
  • Ensure that process results in accurate and legally complete transactions with landowners
  • Monitor communications with landowners before, during and after the transaction
  • Need 3 to 5 years experience in real estate, land or property management
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and respect for landowners/farmers with whom we seek to do business

Entry-Level Wind Developer

National Wind is currently seeking an entry-level wind developer to work in the planning, design, assessment, and implementation of community owned utility scale wind energy projects. The Project Developer will work on wind project fatal flaw analysis, regional evaluation, project permitting, and development from site identification through start of construction. You will report to a senior developer.


Responsibilities include the following:

  • Interface with communities to develop utility-scale wind farms
  • Facilitate formation of legal entity and capital formation
  • Supervise site acquisition activities
  • Coordinate with regulators, local community owners and management
  • Budget and schedule the development effort, including:
    1. Wind data collection and analysis
    2. Interconnection application
    3. Transmission studies
    4. Permitting
    5. Environmental analyses
    6. Land/property surveys
    7. Power Purchase Agreements
  • Manage contractors and consultants

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  1. Four year degree.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of business experience.
  3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Honest and self-directed person that is at ease with rural communities.
  5. Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Regulatory, permitting and public policy,
    • Real estate development
    • Utility practices
    • Transmission practices
    • Finance, and/or
    • Wind economics

Location: This position will be located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Some travel will be required.
